The AUTOCON command simply sets a profile variable which is remembered across IOF sessions. You can display the current state by entering "DVAR CNSAUTOC" from the primary input area of any IOF panel.

No MVS control blocks are involved. IOF simply examines the value of the profile variable to determine if it should enter the MVS or JES2 command from the Extended MCS Console.
